Alteration of Soils, Terrain and Vegetation
The impacts of the project on areas with a variety of potential land uses are
presented in Table 5.3-2. Impact areas are mapped in Figure 5.3-1. Effectively,
all lands within the property line of the tailings facility will become unavailable
for land use during the project; the lands covered by tailings are conservatively
assumed to be unavailable for agriculture on a permanent basis, although other
land uses will likely be possible.
